In 2012 the NYS Dept of Homeland Security & Emergency Services opened a grant for Recruitment & Retention funding for volunteer fire and EMS agencies.We just found out NYS DHSES is doing the same Recruitment & Retention grant for 2015, the deadline is June 11, 23:59, 2015.
In the 2012/13 grant period they had over 350k in funding available, the max grant request was $25,000.
